What is Righteousness?

The essence of Dharma or Righteousness is complex and has many facets of it. Strictly speaking there is no equivalent word in English to Dharma, but the nearest meaningful word is righteousness. As per Mahabharata, one of the greatest epics of Hindu Santayana Dharma, Dharma is defined in many ways. Actually Hinduism is not a religion, but it is a way of life, and it is not formed by any single great person.  Dharma has got the following characteristics, hidden in it: 1. Non-violence2. Truth fullness 3. Forgiveness 4. Conquest over anger (Self-control) 5. Charity (mainly towards the poor and the needy) 6. Justice providing 7. Not indulging in illegal sexual offences  8. be loyal to the superiors (Obedient), etc. By following the path of the Dharma, one can gain happiness, mental piece and purity in thoughts and deeds. The best Dharma is the ability to show mercy and compassion towards all beings. Compassion is well explained as ‘’love in action”. As we all know that ‘’God is love”. Hence by showing love towards all living –beings, we are serving God, the All Mighty and our Savior.  This act alone is conducive to the good of all. Finally, we should follow the path of Dharma, to attain the Moksha (liberation from the cycles of births and deaths) and become true devotees to the God, the Omnipresent. Then the purpose of our birth on this earth will be fulfilled. Sri Sathya Sai Baba views on God

Sri Sathya is a God avatar for His devotees. He is a Spiritual Guru who commands massive following all over the world with his service and preachings. God, the Almighty is omnipresent and omnipotent. He has no beginning and also no ending. God is everywhere and is everything. But for many, it appears as if He is nowhere and he is not in anything. God is the love, the Power, the Truth, the wisdom and the Beauty. When you accept love, you accept God. The tender plant of spirituality can grow only in the field of love. It cannot thrive in the loveless land of human hearts. Remove all traces of salinity from your hearts. Water it with faith. Then plant the seedling of Divinity. Discipline is the fence and steadfastness is the pesticide to be applied. Then you can reap the rich harvest of Janna (wisdom), which will free you from the bonds of this physical world, as it is our temporary abode only. Those who laugh at people doing Bahamans (hymns) or visiting temples or attending Divine Discourses, have not tasted the nectar, and so hey are prejudiced against the devotees. Pity them as they do not know what they are missing. The good slogan is: “fewer luggages are more comfort for the journey’’. So also, Reduced desires, loosen attachments to worldly things, are more comfortable, for the ornery of life and you will be liberated. Remember: -The end of wisdom is freedom,  -The end of education is character,  -The end of knowledge is love. Without God, life is like a school without a teacher, It is like a wire with no electric current passing through it and it is a body without a Soul. God is in us, around us and beyond us. God is known by His manifestations in men, plants, … [Read more...]
