Sri Sathya Sai Baba – is He (God) or he (man)?

There are differences of opinion among the people regarding Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi. Some people say he is a man, having some magic powers, which are also possessed by magicians. In their opinion, these are nothing but gimmicks done by Baba to get favor and money from the gullible public. The atheists say, as there is no GOD at all, Baba also cannot claim to be GOD. Hence it is unnecessary to worship Him. He is a man just like us. But others treat Him as Bhagavan (God). According to them, He is an Avatara (incarnation of GOD). As per Swami Vivekananda: ‘’Higher and nobler than all ordinary ones, are another set of teachers, the Avatars of Iswara (GOD).They are the Teachers of all teachers, the highest manifestation of GOD through men’’ Hinduism (the Sanathana Dharma) teaches that there have been many incarnations on earth from the Triune Godhead. Lord Vishnu (Narayana) is one member of the Godhead and He is considered the origin or seed of Avataras. There are two types of Avataras, some of these are major and some are minor amass (rays) from the supreme radiance (the Lord). The few, the Teachers of teachers, who have brought about a great forward movement in man’s spiritual evolution, are called the major Avataras. According to the truth- religion (wisdom at the foundation of all the great religions), every human being is a descent of the divine into matter. We must keep in mind that one who has lived as man and finally and fully realized himself as GOD, merges with the divine ground of all being, the Godhead. All we can understand is that a major avatar, (though man in appearance and human in body), is totally GOD within.  The signs and signals by … [Read more...]

What Sathya Sai Baba says about Satya (truth)?

Sathya Sai Baba speech on truth: Every human being has two eyes in his consciousness, namely  1. Truth 2. Non-Violence  Man is a pilgrim who has already come a long way from birth to birth. The journey so far he travelled decides how far he has to go still. If he has lost his way and meandered into the deserts or jungles, he will yet to travel a great distance. If he travels in right path, his pilgrimage will end soon successfully. Satya and ahimsa are the guides which will take you to the goal of life.  These two lights are like the Sun and the Moon of the inner firmament. 1. Truth in speech: Look into the Bhagavad-Gita (song of the GOD), it tells you that the best speech is ‘’speech that does not create, pain, anger and grief to others”. The scriptures say –speak the Truth, but pleasantly. If speaking the Truth will cause grief or pain, then be silent. This is the vow of truth in ordinary day of life. Do not have hypocrisy or crookedness in your speech. Avoid unpleasant Truth and pleasant un- truth also. Vedas says-everything is established on the firm foundation of Truth. Your transactions should not be contaminated by any trace of falsehood.  Sai Baba further says ,Truth is My nature, My mission and My message. 2. Non-Violence: It is another phase of Truth (satya). When once you are aware of the kinship, the oneness in God- no one will knowingly cause pain or distress to another. Instead of Non-Violence, promote love, scatter love, and be fragrant with love. Preach the gospel of love through example. There is a noble saying which is as follows: ‘’Love others as you love yourself’’. Where there is love, there is peace (no wars on this … [Read more...]
